The club were delighted to welcome so many Irish members and international visitors to the Treffen in Limerick this year. There was a total of 173 bikes at the event. 160 of these were GWEF bikes (comprising 99 GWOCI bikes and 61 international bikes) and 13 were non-GWEF bikes. 12 countries (including Ireland) were represented. The awards, which were presented after dinner on Saturday 17th August, were as follows.

Katie Mordecai
Katie is 20 years old from Gold Wing Owners Club of Great Britain and was riding a 1983 GL1100. Katie has attended Irish Treffens before but this was her first Irish Treffen on her own bike. Thanks to Katie for travelling to be with us this year and we very much look forward to welcoming her back to Ireland for many years to come.
Youngest Irish Rider
Adam Milton
Adam is 22 years old from Gold Wing Owners Club of Ireland (Leinster) and was riding a 1983 GL1100. Adam has attended a number of Treffens both at home and abroad but this was his first Treffen on his own bike. We wish him all the best with his new bike, safe riding and we look forward to seeing him at Treffens for many years to come.

Bill is 81 years (and 10 months!) old from Gold Wing Owners Club of Great Britain and is no stranger to an Irish Treffen. Bill travelled from his home in Scotland to be with us in Limerick for the weekend.

The sparkly purple trike mum-and-daughter duo from Gold Wing Owners Club of Great Britain never cease to wow people with their fantastic display of lights and this year was no different. They did, however, have one new addition to their attire that made them stand out even more than usual - "It was the hats that won it!"

Larry and Nell, friends of the club through Liam and Carmel, travelled all the way from Colorado, USA to join us at this year's Irish Treffen and we were delighted to welcome them.

Herbert from Gold Wing Club Austria went above and beyond travelling over 3,000 km and utilising no less than four ferries to get to Limerick for the Irish Treffen.

We were delighted that so many of our friends from Northern Ireland could join us for the weekend. Fintan accepted this award on behalf of the club as a special thank you for their friendship and support over the years.

What a wonderful experience Nelle and I had visiting old friends and making so many new friends while attending the Irish Treffen in Limerick. We both felt sad to leave after having so much fun, we will miss everyone until we meet again.
