New Year Address

Updated: Jan 4, 2022

3rd January 2022

Dear Club Members,

As 2021 drew to a close, the committee convened a Zoom meeting to discuss a number of issues affecting the club. Firstly, the 2022 International Irish Treffen. Unfortunately, the committee had no alternative but to cancel the Treffen. However, the good news is the committee are now finalising the details of two alternative events in 2022 starting with a Friendship Weekend from 21st to 24th April and then a National Treffen (as opposed to an International Treffen) from 18th to 21st August. The details and format of these events will be published on the club website in early 2022.

On behalf of the committee, I would especially like to thank the club members for their loyalty and for continuously renewing their membership during these pandemic years. As I look back on 2021, I really appreciate the occasions I was able to participate in some of our regional ride outs. It was a reminder of how valuable the club is with the friendship of our membership.

As a committee, we appreciate the support and patience of the membership as we try to work through this ever changing pandemic. To all club members and their families, keep safe and well in 2022. Hopefully we can soon return to some normality and have the opportunity to once again enjoy club events.

Best regards,

Dermott Smith

GWOCI Caretaker Chairperson
