Spring Wing Ding, Cong (NEW photos added!)

The Spring Wing Ding weekend away for GWOCI and GWOCNI members in Cong, Co. Mayo on 27th April was a great success for the second year in a row.

The beautifully scenic ride out on Saturday was led by John O'Sullivan and departed from Lakeland House where some members were staying for the weekend.

Most enjoyed the comfort of the hostel or their camper vans but some decided to brave Storm Hannah the previous night and, thankfully, survived!

The ride out stopped for lunch at Leenaun in north Co. Galway where members were able to take in the stunning panoramic views of Killary Harbour, despite the strong winds attempting to whip them out to sea!

After refreshments in the cafe and a peruse of the gift shop at The Sheep & Wool Centre, folks were ready to hit the road again.

Next stop: Westport, Co. Mayo.

On Saturday evening, it was smiles all round as members enjoyed a delicious barbecue in the covered outdoor seating area of Ryan's Hotel in Cong.

Happy birthday to Ann!

Some members took a trip to nearby Ashford Castle before heading home on Sunday.
